The community of Nevada City is the Seat for Nevada County.

Nevada County was founded in 1851 and was created by taking area from Yuba County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Nevada had a population of 99,648 people. This is an increase of 0.9% since the last Census (which gave a population of 98,764 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Nevada represented 0.27% of the total population of California.
