Yuba County is one of the original counties of California and was founded in 1850.

From the Census Estimates for 2009, <1> Yuba had a population of 72,925 people. This is an increase of 21.1% since the last Census (which gave a population of 60,219 people in 2000).

At the time of the 2000 Census, Yuba represented 0.18% of the total population of California, making it the state's 39th most populous county (out of 58 counties).
