Welcome to Kokanee ...

So far, we found very little information about Kokanee. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

The origin (or the toponymy) of Kokanee: Named from the Sinixt word for the land-locked Salmon that spawn in the area.

Time Zone: The area where Kokanee was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time. The time zone in French: PST- Heure Normale du Pacifique (HNP).

Note: If you travel east from Kokanee, you will soon leave Pacific Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT).

However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Kokanee, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.
<2>	When there's a risk of an area code running out of phone numbers, an 'Overlay Area Code' is created that has the same geographic boundaries as the existing area code.
