Welcome to Simmons ...

So far, we found very little information about Simmons. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Simmons to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Simmons - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Simmons, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Simmons , we believe that it would have been located within present day Yavapai County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Simmons, you might consider that their post office opened in 1881.

Time Zone: The area where Simmons was located is in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) and does not observe daylight saving time

The location where Simmons once stood is in the (928) area code.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 13 communities that are also named Simmons - they are located in Alabama, Arkansas (2), Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah (2) and West Virginia.

Adding Simmons to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Simmons was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Simmons post office opened in 1881.

We also found Simmons in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
