Welcome to Placerita ...

So far, we found very little information about Placerita. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Placerita to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Placerita - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Placerita, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Placerita , we believe that it would have been located within present day Yavapai County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Placerita, you might consider that their post office opened in 1896.

Time Zone: The area where Placerita was located is in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) and does not observe daylight saving time

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Placerita was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Placerita post office opened in 1896.
