The Commemorative Quarter for Alabama

Do you know of Amos ???

When we encounter a name that is new to us, we add it to our Gazetteer - that's the case with Amos.

This entry has been created as a placeholder - we hope to develop more information in the future.

This entry could be in error. It might be that our source had a mis-print, was simply wrong or we made a transcription error while referencing it. We hope to learn more about Amos in the future.

We found mention of Amos as a post office, but can't determine its location - other than being located somewhere in Winston County, Alabama.

It's common that the post office is named the same as the community in which it's located (although that's not always case). In this case, we can't match this post office to any of the existing communities in our gazetteer.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Amos, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1890.

Communities Also Named Amos ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 11 communities that are also named Amos - they are located in Arkansas, California, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, Quebec, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
