So far, we found very little information about Lost Valley. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Lost Valley would have been located within present day Wheeler County<2>.


The location of Lost Valley has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>


While we don't have a date for the founding of Lost Valley, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1879.

A typical abbreviation for Lost Valley: Lost Vly. (or less commonly used: Lost Vally. or Lost Vlly.)

While the community is gone, the present day location for Lost Valley is 3,800 feet [1,158 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Lost Valley is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Lost Valley was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Lost Valley was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Lost Valley post office opened in 1879.
