Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Galena had an population of 739 people. This is an increase of 13.17% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 142.3% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Galena had a population of 653 people. This makes Galena the county's 6th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 653 people, the population of Galena increased 114.1% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 305 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Galena was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Galena post office opened in 1834.

We also found Galena in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
