At the time of the 2010 Census, Pataskala had a population of 14,962 people (which is 8.98% of the total population of Licking County). This makes Pataskala the county's 3rd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Pataskala was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Pataskala post office opened in 1852.
