While we don't have a date for the founding of Pinos Altos, you might consider that their post office opened in 1867. While the community is gone, the present day location for Pinos Altos is 7,010 feet [2,137 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Pinos Altos is about 1¼ mile [or ~2¼ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Pinos Altos was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel west from Pinos Altos (for example, toward Duncan (AZ)), you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST).
