Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Caldwell had an population of 58,635 people. This is an increase of 26.81% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 125.81% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Caldwell had a population of 46,237 people (which is 24.47% of the total population of Canyon County). This makes Caldwell the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Caldwell represents 2.95% of the population of Idaho (which has 1,567,582 people), making it the state's 6th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 46,237 people, the population of Caldwell increased 78.06% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 25,967 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Caldwell was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Caldwell post office opened in 1883.
