At the time of the 2010 Census, Arvada had a population of 106,433 people (or 19.91% of the total population of Jefferson County). This makes Arvada the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Arvada represents 2.12% of the population of Colorado (which has 5,029,196 people), making it the state's 8th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 106,433 people, the population of Arvada increased 4.19% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 102,153 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Arvada was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

From that list, the Arvada post office opened in 1871.
