Adams County was founded April 15, 1901 and was created by taking area from Arapahoe County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Adams had a population of 516,575 people. This is an increase of 16.98% since the last Census (which gave a population of 441,603 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Adams represented 8.78% of the total population of Colorado.
