While we don't have a date for the founding of Brighton, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1879.

The city was incorporated September 1, 1887.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Brighton had an population of 39,850 people. This is an increase of 19.48% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 90.62% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Brighton had a population of 33,352 people (or 7.52% of the total population of Adams County). This makes Brighton the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Brighton represents 0.66% of the population of Colorado (which has 5,029,196 people), making it the state's 22nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 33,352 people, the population of Brighton increased 59.54% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 20,905 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Brighton was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>
