Welcome to Tumco ...So far, we found very little information about Tumco. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Tumco to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We aren't confident of the location of Tumco, so consider the above location as an estimate.<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Tumco, you might consider that their post office opened in 1910. The origin (or the toponymy) of Tumco: An acronym for 'The Union Mine Company'. Time Zone: The area where Tumco was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you leave Tumco and travel east, you will leave Pacific Time and cross into the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST). In addition, you will be moving from an area that observes daylight saving time to one that does not. If Tumco still existed, it would have been in the (760) and (442)<4> area codes.
