At the time of the 2010 Census, Ellsworth had a population of 3,284 people (which is 8.01% of the total population of Pierce County). This makes Ellsworth the county's 3rd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Ellsworth was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Ellsworth post office opened in 1861.
