At the time of the 2010 Census, Prescott had a population of 4,258 people (or 10.36% of the total population of Pierce County). This makes Prescott the county's 2nd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Prescott was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>
