The location of Barron has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Barron, you might consider that their post office opened in 1899. While the community is gone, the present day location for Barron is 5,210 feet [1,588 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Barron is about 1 mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Barron was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time Barron would have been located in the (360) area code.
