At the time of the 2010 Census, Surry had a population of 244 people. This makes Surry the county's 3rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 244 people, the population of Surry decreased 6.87% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 262 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Surry was on a map titled Map of Virginia (from Rand McNally, 1911).
