From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Red Mills was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Red Mills post office opened in 1893.

We also found Red Mills on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Virginia (1911).
