At the time of the 2010 Census, Damascus had a population of 814 people. This makes Damascus the county's 3rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 814 people, the population of Damascus decreased 17.02% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 981 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Damascus was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Damascus post office opened in 1890.

We also found Damascus in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
