How Far From Beale to ...
We spend a lot of time looking through Gazetteers that were published in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many of the Gazetteers include the distance from a community such as Beale to various places of note, such as the White House.
With a nod to our favorite Gazetteers and using the location of where the historic community of Beale once stood, the straight-line distance beginning in Beale and extending to:
- Bowling Green, which is the Seat of Caroline County, lies just to the Northwest.
- Richmond, which is the State Capital of Virginia, lies 32 miles [51.5 km]<1> to the south southwest (SSW). If you could walk a straight line from Beale to Richmond, with an average speed<3> of 2.2 miles [3.5 km] per hour, it would take most of two days to make the trip.
