Summit County was founded in 1854. Summit was created by taking area from Salt Lake and Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Summit had a population of 42,081 people. This is an increase of 15.85% since the last Census (which gave a population of 36,324 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Summit represented 1.31% of the total population of Utah.
