At the time of the 2010 Census, Waco had a population of 124,805 people (which is 52.9% of the total population of McLennan County). This makes Waco the county's most populous community.

The population of Waco represents 0.5% of the population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 22nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 124,805 people, the population of Waco increased 9.74% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 113,726 people).
