Welcome to Savage ...

So far, we found very little information about Savage. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Savage to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Savage - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Savage, please Contact Us.


Savage was located

While we don't have the exact location of Savage , we believe that it would have been located within present day Fannin County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Savage, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1891.

Time Zone: The area where Savage was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

The location where Savage once stood is in the (903) and (430)<3> area codes.

Communities Also Named Savage ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Texas communities named Savage: This one is located in Fannin County and the other is located in Crosby County.

Beyond Texas, there are 11 communities that are also named Savage - they are located in Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Savage was on a map titled Map of Texas (from Rand McNally, 1911).

We also found Savage in the book titled .<4> From that list, the Savage post office opened in 1891.
