So far, we found very little information about Red Gap. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Red Gap was located in the Texas Panhandle.

While we don't have the exact location of Red Gap , we believe that it would have been located within present day Eastland County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Red Gap, you might consider that their post office opened in 1878.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Red Gap was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Red Gap post office opened in 1878.
