Welcome to Provident City ...So far, we found very little information about Provident City. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Provident City to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. The location of Provident City has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Provident City, you might consider that their post office opened in 1910. While the community is gone, the present day location for Provident City is 140 feet [43 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Provident City was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time If Provident City still existed, it would have been in the (979) area code.
