So far, we found very little information about Pisgah. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>
We've added Pisgah to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Pisgah - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Pisgah, please Contact Us.
Pisgah was located While we don't have the exact location of Pisgah , we believe that it would have been located within present day Navarro County<2>. While we don't have a date for the founding of Pisgah, you might consider that their post office opened in 1891. Time Zone: The area where Pisgah was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Texas communities named Pisgah: This one is located in Navarro County and the other is located in Nacogdoches County. Beyond Texas, there are 28 communities that are also named Pisgah - they are located in Alabama (3), Arkansas (3), California, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi (3), Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee (4), Virginia (2) and West Virginia. From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Pisgah was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3> We also found Pisgah in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
