Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Panhandle had an population of 2,280 people. This is a decrease of 7.01% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 11.94% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Panhandle had a population of 2,452 people (which is 39.66% of the total population of Carson County). This makes Panhandle the county's most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,452 people, the population of Panhandle decreased 5.29% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 2,589 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Panhandle was on a map titled Map of Texas (from Rand McNally, 1911).

We also found Panhandle in the book titled .<7> From that list, the Panhandle post office opened in 1887.
