Welcome to Ohio ...So far, we found very little information about Ohio. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Ohio to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. The location of Ohio has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Ohio, you might consider that their post office opened in 1882. While the community is gone, the present day location for Ohio is 1,050 feet [320 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Ohio was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time The location where Ohio once stood is in the (254) area code. Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 10 communities that are also named Ohio - they are located in Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, New York, Nova Scotia (4) and Ontario.
