Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Katy had an population of 21,667 people. This is an increase of 53.64% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 84.01% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Katy had a population of 14,102 people. This makes Katy the county's 10th most populous community.

The population of Katy represents 0.06% of the population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 171st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 14,102 people, the population of Katy increased 19.76% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 11,775 people).
