Unfortunately our sources aren't clear about the location of Granite Mountain other than they indicate that Granite Mountain would be found somewhere in Burnet County, Texas. From the Blevins / Hellbock List: The post office opened in 1890 and closed in 1911. Communities Also Named Granite Mountain ...We found two communities that share the name Granite Mountain. Within Texas, the name Granite Mountain is unique. Beyond Texas, we know of another two communities that are located throughout in the United States.
