Welcome to Gatling ...

So far, we found very little information about Gatling. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Gatling to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Gatling - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Gatling, please Contact Us.

Gatling was located in the Texas Panhandle.

While we don't have the exact location of Gatling , we believe that it would have been located within present day Stonewall County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Gatling, you might consider that their post office opened in 1894.

Time Zone: The area where Gatling was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Gatling was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Gatling post office opened in 1894.
