The location of Etholen has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While the community is gone, the present day location for Etholen is 4,640 feet [1,414 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Etholen is about ¾ mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Etholen was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you leave Etholen and travel east, you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT). Etholen would have been located in the (915) area code.
