While our initial data about Elmina came from various goverment sources (GNIS), we also found mention of Elmina in various books, maps and other sources. When we find a mention, a fact or snippet, we add that information to our Gazetter.

Elmina is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

The Elmina post office opened in 1903 and had closed by 1936.
