Elizabeth was located While we don't have the exact location of Elizabeth , we believe that it would have been located within present day Denton County<2>. While we don't have a date for the founding of Elizabeth, you might consider that their post office opened in 1870. When the people of Elizabeth referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Elizabethan<3> Time Zone: The area where Elizabeth was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time While we believe that this Elizabeth is located in Denton County, we know of another 2 Texas communities named Elizabeth. Those communities are located in the following counties: Hidalgo and Jefferson County.
