Miscellaneous References and Mentions

While our initial information about Cyclone came from various goverment sources (GNIS, FIPS), we also found mention of Cyclone in various books, maps and other sources.

We've created the following list to keep track of the sources that proved useful in adding to our knowledge about Cyclone. We hope that they will be useful to you.

Note: Initially, we were careless about keeping track of where our Cyclone data came from. The following list of references and mentions is incomplete.

Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895)
Published by Rand McNally & Co.

A note taken from the Shipper's Guide for Cyclone:
Services available in 1895: had a Post Office, no Railroad mentioned

Rand McNally Map of Texas (1911)

Cyclone is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

Both the GNIS and FIPS databases contain entries for Cyclone. See our Misc Page for Cyclone for more information.
