Welcome to Belle Plain ...

So far, we found very little information about Belle Plain. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Belle Plain was located in the Texas Panhandle.

Belle Plain would have been located within present day Callahan County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Belle Plain, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1878.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Belle Plain is 1,840 feet [561 m] above sea level.<3>.

Time Zone: The area where Belle Plain was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Belle Plain was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

X2X - From that list, the Belle Plain post office opened in 1878.

We also found Belle Plain in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
