At the time of the 2010 Census, Greenbrier had a population of 6,433 people (or 9.71% of the total population of Robertson County). This makes Greenbrier the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Greenbrier represents 0.1% of the total population of Tennessee (which has 6,346,105 people), making it the state's 81st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 6,433 people, the population of Greenbrier increased 30.22% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 4,940 people).

We originally found mention of Greenbrier in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Greenbrier was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Greenbrier post office opened in 1867.

We also found Greenbrier on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Tennessee (1888).
