The location of Emory has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Emory, you might consider that their post office opened in 1880. While the community is gone, the present day location for Emory is 1,150 feet [351 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Emory was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel west from Emory (for example, toward Clarkrange), you will leave Eastern Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).
