The location of Eagle Creek has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Eagle Creek, you might consider that their post office opened in 1876. A typical abbreviation for Eagle Creek: Eagle Crk. (or less commonly used: Eagle Ck. or Eagle Cr.) While the community is gone, the present day location for Eagle Creek is 1,030 feet [314 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Eagle Creek was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel east from Eagle Creek (for example, toward Helenwood), you will leave Central Time and cross into the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT).
