While we don't have a date for the founding of Dunlap, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1888.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Dunlap had an population of 5,199 people. This is an increase of 7.98% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 24.59% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Dunlap had a population of 4,815 people (which is 34.12% of the total population of Sequatchie County). This makes Dunlap the county's most populous community.

The population of Dunlap represents 0.08% of the population of Tennessee (which has 6,346,105 people), making it the state's 98th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 4,815 people, the population of Dunlap increased 15.38% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 4,173 people).
