The community of Jacksboro is the Seat for Campbell County.

Campbell County was founded in 1806. Campbell was created by taking area from Anderson and Claiborne Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Campbell had a population of 39,778 people. This is a decrease of 2.3% since the last Census (which gave a population of 40,716 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Campbell represented 0.64% of the total population of Tennessee.
