While we don't have a date for the founding of Sheridan, you might consider that their post office opened in 1877. From the 2010 Census (the most recent Census number we have), Sheridan had a population of 433 people.<3> (see below for details). While the community is gone, the present day location for Sheridan is 4,620 feet [1,408 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Sheridan is about ¾ mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level.
