How Far From Ragged Top to ...
We spend a lot of time looking through Gazetteers, Almanacs & Directories that were published in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many of the Gazetteers include the distance from a community such as Ragged Top to various places of note, such as the White House.
With a nod to our favorite Gazetteers and using the location of where the historic<2> community of Ragged Top once stood, the straight-line distance<3> beginning in Ragged Top and extending to:
- Deadwood, which is the Seat of Lawrence County, lies just to the East.
- Pierre, which is the State Capital of South Dakota, lies 174 miles [280 km]<3> to the east (E).
