At the time of the 2010 Census, Ridgeland had a population of 4,036 people (which is 16.29% of the total population of Jasper County). This makes Ridgeland the county's most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Ridgeland was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Ridgeland post office opened in 1882.
