Time Zone: Kent County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

Kent County was founded in 1750 and was created by taking area from Providence County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Kent had a population of 164,233 people. This is a decrease of 1.16% since the last Census (which gave a population of 166,158 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Kent represented 15.79% of the total population of Rhode Island.
