Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Palmyra had an population of 7,549 people. This is an increase of 3.13% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 6.38% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Palmyra had a population of 7,320 people (which is 5.48% of the total population of Lebanon County). This makes Palmyra the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Palmyra represents 0.06% of the population of Pennsylvania (which has 12,702,379 people), making it the state's 115th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 7,320 people, the population of Palmyra increased 3.16% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 7,096 people).

We originally found mention of Palmyra in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Palmyra was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Palmyra post office opened in 1810.

We also found Palmyra in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
