From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for New Stanton was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the New Stanton post office opened in 1841.

We also found New Stanton in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
