From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Line Mountain was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Line Mountain post office opened in 1844.

We also found Line Mountain in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
